Projekt 2014: Jura-Höhenweg: Abschluss des Caches Jura-Höhenweg Teil 1

Am Freitag dem 28. Februar 2014 erhielt ich wie schon oft ein eMail über einen neu publizierten Cache in meinem Beobachtungsgebiet. Doch dieses mal war es anders, ein MultiCache mit 26 Stages ohne die Finale Box über mehr als 150 km zog uns sofort in seinen Bann:
Am Sonntag dem 29. September war es dann soweit, sieben Monate und einen Tag nach der Publikation des Caches konnten wir uns doch mit einem gewissem Stolz im Logbuch des Caches eintragen.

On Friday the 28th of February I received the daily notification about new caches in my area, but this time it was different: there was a multicache fascinating us immediately: 26 stages not including the final box covering over 150 km:
Monday the 29th of September was great day, seven months and one day after the publication of the cache we were able to put our names into the cache's logbook, not without beeing quite proud.

Die Zusammenfassung:

Dieser Multicache zog uns nach der Publikation sofort komplett in seinen Bann und sehr bald war klar, dass dieser Cache unser Projet 2014 wird.
Die Planung der ersten paar Etappen und Teile war noch nicht allzu kompliziert, da für uns aus der Innerschweiz die An- und Rückreise mit dem öffentlichen Verkehr erträglich kurz ist. Je weiter man aber in Richtung Westen kommt, desto komplizierter wurde das ganze. Man musste immer früher los und für die letzten beiden Teile entschieden wir uns sogar, je zwei Tage zusammen zu hängen.
Es war auch spannend aber ziemlich zeitintensiv, die umliegenden Caches sinnvoll miteinzuplanen.

Das erste mal im Feld waren wir schon am 2. März, dann ging es grob im Monatsrhythmus weiter, mehr lag nicht drin, das wussten wir schon am Anfang. 
Immer mehr der benötigten Zahlen kamen zusammen, einige waren absolut klar, andere nicht ganz so glasklar, aber eine kurze Nachfrage bei den Eigentümern räumte alle Zweifel aus. Für die letzten zwei Teile waren wir sogar richtig gut ausgerüstet: die Koordinaten wurden nach Eingabe in der Tabelle automatisch berechnet und quer-kontrolliert. So waren wir am 29. September 2014, sieben Monate und ein Tag nach der Publikation, eigentlich ziemlich sicher: wir standen am richtigen Ort und mussten nur noch die finale Box finden. Doch das dauerte nochmals eine halbe Stunde. Jeder Ort wurde abgesucht, jedes Loch inspiziert, jeder Baum untersucht.... und wie so oft findet man die Box am Schluss dort wo man am Anfang eigentlich gesucht hat, wie könnte es anders sein.

Vielen Dank an Röbi und Monika für das Bereitstellen unseres Projekts 2014 und für die unkomplizierte Unterstützung der Cacher unterwegs. Der Cache hat uns zwar einige Schweisstropfen gekostet (die habe ich nicht gezählt), aber es war ein absolut unvergessliches Erlebnis in einer für uns nicht so bekannten Gegend.
Wir freuen uns schon jetzt auf den Teil 2 von Vue des Alpes nach Nyon und denken, das hat Potential unser Projekt 2015 zu werden !

Die Statistik

Einige Daten wurden während dem ganzen Cache gesammelt und sind in der folgenden Tabelle zusammengestellt. Zu bemerken ist, dass die Kilometerangaben, sowie Auf- und Abstieg mehr oder weniger die Zahlen aus dem GPS sind, sie beinhalten also alle unsere Zusatzschlaufen und Umwege und sind, wie bei den GPS Tracks so üblich, auch noch mit Fehlern behaftet.

The summary:

This MultiCache did fascinate us already when published and it didn't take too long until it was clear that this will be our Project 2014.
Planning the first few days in the fields was quite easy, as start and destinations were still in reaching distance. But the further we were proceeding the harder it got, each time we had to get up and leave earlier to be at the starting point at a reasonable time. The last few times we even had to join two days together. It was also quite interesting and challenging to plan the days with all the surrounding caches.


The first time we went out on the 2nd of March, after that we were able to proceed mor or less in monthly intervals, more wasn't possible, we did know that already in advance.
We could continously collect more and more of the needed numbers, some were easy and obvious, others were not as crystalclear, but a short email to the owners always cleared aways the doubts. For the last two trips we were prepared very well on the technical side: after entering the numbers in the prepared sheet the coordinates and all the necessary and possible counterchecks were done automatically.
Therefore we were absolutely sure to be at the correct place on the 29th of September, seven months and 1 day after publication, we just had to find the final box. But this took us about half an hour and as usually in this cases one finds the box at the end exactly where you started looking for it...

Many many thanks to Röbi und Monika for preparing and maintaining our Project 2014. It did cost us quite a few drops of sweat, but it was absolutely worth every single one: it was for us an unforgettable experience in a new region we didn't know that good before.
We're already looking forward to Part 2, which definitely has the potential to get our Project 20115 !

The Statistics

We collected a few dates during the trips and some of them are shown in below table. It has to be said that distance, ascent and descent are more or less taken directly from the GPS, this means that it contains all our additional things we did for logging the caches. And as usual it also contains all the errors that the GPS Track interpretations may contain.
